Questions for a training conversation
Which aircraft and equipment should the course cover?
Discuss the exact aircraft model and variant, avionics, autopilot, operating environment, and your experience. Ask how the syllabus addresses the equipment and procedures you expect to use.
What should I confirm with my insurer?
Ask your insurer or broker about required training, instructors, course completion records, and recurrent intervals for your specific policy. Confirm acceptance before committing to a course.
How can I compare training programs?
Compare the syllabus, instructor experience, aircraft or simulator configuration, training time, location, scheduling, prerequisites, deliverables, and total cost. Ask how the program evaluates proficiency and addresses areas needing more practice.
What should I ask about simulator or online-course credit?
Ask which approvals and limitations apply to the specific course or device, and what records you receive. Work with a qualified instructor to distinguish useful practice from training that can be credited toward your particular requirements.
Know who is behind the resource.
This directory combines training providers, publishers, owner associations, official references, and simulator-practice tools. The resource count includes educational materials and tools as well as companies; it is not a count of flight schools. Multiple resources from one publisher serve different learning needs. Accounts, memberships, subscriptions, or fees may apply. Reviewed October 31, 2026.
Confirm details at the source.
Confirm aircraft and equipment coverage, course prerequisites, instructor qualifications, training-device approvals, location, fees, and current availability directly. Ask your instructor and insurer about your particular requirements. A listing does not establish training credit, currency, insurance acceptance, or an HPA partnership.
