Despite its 1930s styling, fabric-covered wings, radial engine, and open tandem cockpits, this 2010 YMF-5C is built using today's engineering standards: computer-aided design, a corrosion-resistant steel tube fuselage, and long-life materials. This gives users the look and feel of a vintage biplane with the safety and durability of modern construction.
In 2010, WACO Aircraft introduced key upgrades, including an extended fuselage and larger cockpit door for improved access and cabin space, and increased gross weight. These, paired with a modern MT constant-speed composite propeller and fuel injection STC expand N121JV's capabilities without losing the soul of a vintage biplane.
Avionics include a fully integrated Garmin suite: G500 PFD/MFD, Garmin G5, G430 GPS/Nav/Com, GMA 350c Audio Panel, GTX 345 Transponder, GDU 620, and JPI EDM engine monitoring, offering IFR capability and pilot confidence.
The aircraft’s striking red exterior with black and gold accents is in excellent condition and has always been hangared in a climate-controlled environment. Inside, it features a brown leather two-seat interior that's clean and well-kept.
