James “Skip” Warren is a Gold Seal Flight Instructor with over 10 years of experience as a pilot, aircraft owner, and flight instructor.
Skip has an extensive professional background in a variety of fields, including law enforcement, litigation, and aviation. He has been a pilot since 2004, having learned to fly in a Citabria taildragger. He would later become a partner in his first aircraft, a Cessna 172 and then a Piper Comanche. Skip then went on to upgrade and purchased a new 2006 Columbia 400, which he has flown over 500 hours.
Skip has over 4000 hours of flight time and 2500 hours of flight instruction given. He has served as chief pilot for a major Part 141 flight school. Not only does Skip train students, but he is also an “instructor of instructors” and has taught biannual flight instructor recertification courses. In addition to providing quality flight instruction, Skip also serves as HPA’s expert instrument instructor.
Skip has attended factory training as a Cessna FITS Accepted Instructor in Independence, Kansas, allowing him to teach Cessna’s G1000 FITS Transition Training in the Cessna 172, 182, 206, 350, 400 as well as the Columbia 350 and 400. He has also participated as a Columbia 400 instructor in the CAART program (Cessna Advanced Aircraft Recurrent Training) in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Skip has been factory certified by Cirrus Aircraft as a Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilot (CSIP) qualified in both Avidyne and Garmin Perspective avionics, allowing him to teach all of the Cirrus factory training courses to clients throughout the country.

In his spare time, Skip enjoys flying his airplane to weekend retreats in Oklahoma and trying out new golfing destinations. As an aircraft owner, Skip is more than just a flight instructor.
