Darrell assists HPA clients with aircraft sales, acquisition, and consultation services. He has accumulated over 4,000 hours of flight time and has over 15 years of experience in Part 135 & Part 91 Flight Department Operations. He has functioned as both a flight instructor and commercial pilot.
Darrell obtained his private license through CFI/CFII in 2000, having learned to fly in a Cessna 172. After flight instructing, he flew in a Cessna 182RG (traffic watch) Cessna 402 (freight – part 135) and a Citation 560 (V) flying for the William P. Hobby family. During this time he also flew contract in the Citation S-II, Citation Ultra, Citation Bravo and a King Air 90.
After his time with the Hobby family, Darrell went to work for a prominent family in McAllen, Texas flying a Citation 560 XLS. While in the Rio Grand Valley, he flew contract in a A36 Beech Bonanza, Piper Cherokee, and a Piper Seneca II. He now works in the aviation department for a major energy company at Ellington Field in Houston.
Darrell proudly served in the US Navy, working the flight deck on the nuclear aircraft carrier – the USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). In 2000, Darrell obtained his certificates and ratings via American Flyers at their KFTW, KADS, and KDWH locations.
